Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson is an American actor who became famous by playing Buffy Summers in the cult Buffy the Vampireslayer film. She also played Becky Granger in the telefilm Nightingales and the very short-lived NBC show of the same nameErica Paget on the CBS drama Early Editionand Marlowe Viccellio in Psych. Born in California, Swanson began her interest in acting when she was an early child. The path she took to become an actor began with advertising, where she appeared in several commercials. In 1984, she made her debut on the screen with an episode of NBC's sitcom It's Your Turn. In 1986, she made her debut on a romantic comedy called Pretty in Pink. She is best known for her blonde hair and the breathless voice she has. Since then she has moved on to acting in secondary roles. Swan won an award called the Young Artist Award in 1990 to be the top young actress in a horror or mystery film for Flowers in the Attic.
