Adams was raised in Italy where her father served in the U.S. military and she lived living in Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven children. Mid-1990s, she started dancing and performing professionally at the Boulder Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. After that, she joined a regional theatre located in Minnesota which was where she got her first role as a character in a film mock documentary on beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). After making her screen debut as a charming but ditzy contestant, she relocating into Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. From June 1951 through September 1962, she got married with actor Tony Curtis. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis.
